Basa Fillet

Basa, which is also referred to as the river cobbler or “Sheelan”, is rich in protein. Our Basa fillets are sliced lengthwise, parallel to the spine along one side of the fish. It has a medium-firm texture and moderate flavour. Pan-frying these fillets gives great results, but cooking them in our gravies is the best way to consume them; you won’t take long to realise the same.

Cooking Instructions

1. Marinate the fish cuts using our ginger garlic marinade; it’s provided along with the fish.

2. Allow the marinated fish to sit for 5 minutes at room temperature.

3. Empty the contents of the gravy pouch in a pan and let it gently simmer for a while.

4. Introduce some pieces of fish to the mix and let the flavours combine until you smell a wonderful, aromatic gravy come to life.
